EXPORT & VERIFICATION

Keep a copy.
Check the files.

Download a Proof archive with its evidence inventory. The independent verifier checks included files and signed records locally, without uploading your evidence or signing in.

01

Export the Proof

Choose the package export from your Proof. Check the inventory for included, omitted, and unavailable files. A recipient export contains the material selected for that view.

02

Check it locally

Obtain the independent verifier separately from the archive. Run it against the package to compare included files with their integrity references and check signatures where present.

03

Read the results

The report distinguishes verified, unsigned, changed, missing, and unknown-key results. It also identifies stale trust information and revoked keys.

VERIFIER REQUIREMENTS

Independent checks
with a defined scope.

The open-source verifier requires Python 3.10 or later. Signature checking also requires OpenSSL. It can produce a static HTML report for offline review.

Obtain the verifier and signing-key trust list through trusted channels, separately from the evidence archive. Keys included in a package are not automatically trusted.

READING A VERIFICATION RESULT

A file check has limits.

Verification checks the digital material and references available to it. It does not authenticate an item, establish events outside a recording, or determine a claim outcome.

Unsigned records stay labeled unsigned. An offline check cannot account for a newer key revocation until its trust list is refreshed.
